Tonee Carter is a pianist. He’s also a dialysis patient. Carter’s kidneys function at just 10-percent, meaning he can only play the piano when he’s not at the doctor or going to dialysis.
Times have been tough for the 66-year-old. Most recently, he’s taken his show to an Atlanta airport.
When motivational speaker Carlos Whittaker heard Carter play, he was mesmerized. Then he saw the empty tip jar in front of the piano player. Whittaker took to social media, asking his followers to help tip Carter.
Within half an hour, kindhearted strangers donated $10,000 to Carter.
